One month in Australia!

Sep 15

I have been in Australia for 4 weeks now! Skiing, surfing and animal watching… it has been a pretty awesome trip! This was our first training camp in Australia. We showed up to a full competition course ready to go and blue bird weather almost every day! It was a great place to train. I am not used to getting to ski a full course with such a great pitch this early in the season. Also being so close to the ocean, we could go surfing on the days off! How perfect is that? The wildlife around this area is amazing too, kangaroos, wallabies, emus, parrots… so different than at home! After a very successful camp the team road tripped (on the left side) to Sydney for a couple days. It is such a cool city and was fun to explore. Great way to end a training camp with the girls.

Next, I took a flight up north to Brisbane to meet Andrew for 10 days of surfing and relaxing. We started in Byron bay and ended up on the sunshine coast at Peregian beach. Such a beautiful area with tons of white sand beaches and warm weather! I love being able to see the sand bottom the water is so clear while we are surfing. Fun but small waves this week, but it was a good way to relax before the next camp begins! We fly back to Canada in 2 more days and I will have a water ramp camp in Whistler to prepare for our fall training camp in Zermatt, Switzerland. Lots of travelling already this year, but that is what I love! The ski season is coming fast, it won’t be long before there is snow on the ground!
