Summer Training

Blackcomb glacier is officially closed! As I am riding the ferry towards Vancouver Island and my 2 week vacation I wanted to update everyone on my summer.

This is by far the gloomiest summer I have experienced in Whistler since I have been coming here for …. 10 years? However, the weather didn’t stop us from training hard all summer. I started June off on the Island at Sproat Lake and Tofino doing some road riding and surfing before the glacier opened. It still seems like last week! But a month has gone by and many, many days training. We were up on the hill skiing, and then down at the water-ramps jumping, and of course in the gym training. The only thing we had to cut back on was the bike riding, so much rain! I have made huge gains this summer with my on snow jumping and also at the water-ramps working on my back full (single flip, with a 360 rotation). I am already looking forward to the ski season!

In the middle of July I switched things up a little bit and coached at Momentum Camps for girls week! It is always so much fun to join that coaching crew with so many friends and work with so many excited campers. We had a great week and it was a nice change from the usual training routine.

Next up for me, I will be doing some water-ramping in Quebec right before heading over to Australia for our on-snow camp on August 17th! It will be my first time training in Australia and I am looking forward to checking the ski hill out… and the surf too!
